Laura’s Wedding Poem

3rd June 2017

Lifesaving

Do you know you saved my life?

You saved my life.

By degrees and piece by piece,

you stilled the faltering part of me,

joined us in perfect symmetry,

to fit together perfectly.

Do you know by doing that

you saved my life?

Do you know you saved my life?

You saved my life.

You gave me hope and air to breathe,

deep within me there were stars,

you gave them light and kissed each one,

pinned them on my beating heart.

Life buoys on my drifting raft,

towing all the good in me,

Did you know when you did that,

you saved my life?

Such sweetness

resurrecting me

 constellations, planets, galaxies,

holding me

all satellites marked and named,

surrounding and reminding me

You saved my life
