Rock Family Tree:
First in the series of Family Tree; the sea, the rocks, pebbles and sand; woods, metalled/rocky tracks and houses in the trees; houses heel-dug into grassy slopes. Cow dung, barn walls; Campion and blackberries; whipping grasses. Different beaches; different moods; fathers at the end of their tethers, mothers smoking in cars. Teenagers sulking under towels; babies glistening like pearlescent seashells.
This is the beach of Hirondelle and hard boiled eggs; the place where we sat as protected as mining rights.
